BY LUAS from the city centre
From the city centre take the RED LUAS LINE in the direction of Tallaght or Saggart to the Kylemore stop. The main luas stops from the city centre are Middle Abbey Street and Jervis but any stop along the RED LUAS LINE heading towards Tallaght or Saggart will be fine. Get off at Kylemore and cross the road (McDonald's and FBD will be at your back). Walk down the road to your left. This road is the R112 or Walkinstown Avenue. Walk down Walkinstown Avenue until you come to the crossroads.
At the crossroad turn left onto the Long Mile Road (Hyundai - Mooney's will be on your right). Walk past Des Kelly Interiors, Finline Furniture, O'Sullivan Safety and Aldi (which should all be on your left). Once you pass Aldi you are approximately one minute from Drimnagh Castle Secondary School entrance and the castle can be reached by walking through the school gates. The school gates are located right beside a bus stop and there is a sign for the castle at the school gate.

BY BUS from the city centre
Buses passing by Drimnagh Castle: 56A and 151
The 56A runs from Ringsend to Tallaght, and the 151 runs from the Docklands to Foxborough. There are multiple stops along these routes. Shown here is a central bus stop in the city centre (near Trinity College) from where you can catch the 56A and the 151. From stop 4522 at College Green take the 56A or 151 to Drimnagh Castle stop 2727 on the Long Mile Road. The 2727 stop is across the road from Drimnagh Castle Secondary School gates. The castle is located behind the school. Walk through the school gates and you will see the castle ahead of you.

Buses passing near Drimnagh Castle: 27 and 123
The 27 runs from Clare Hall to Jobstown, and the 123 runs from the Marino to Walkinstown. There are multiple stops along these routes. Shown here is a central bus stop in the city centre (near Trinity College) from where you can catch the 27 and the 123. From stop 4522 at College Green take the 27 OR the 123 from stop 1278 at College Green to Balfe Road, stop 2102 (Drimnagh). The 2102 stop is about a four minute walk from the castle. Walk to the Bank of Ireland (about 50metres from the bus stop) and cross the road at the traffic lights - there will be a bus shelter and apartments in front of you. Turn left and walk down the Long Mile Road for about 3 minutes. You will pass by Barnwells Bar and Castle Inn (which will be on your right). At the Kokonut Newsagents, cross the road and continue on the Long Mile Road past the first school (on your right - a red brick building with a green copper roof). The second school on your right is Drimnagh Castle Secondary School. Walk through the gates and you will see the castle in front of you.
